Established in 1948, SHRM stands as the world's largest HR membership organization, passionately dedicated to advancing the field of human resource management.

With over 285,000 members spread across 165 countries, SHRM plays a pivotal role in providing invaluable resources to meet the diverse needs of HR professionals and enhance the professional practice of human resource management. Louisiana SHRM State Council is positioned within SHRM's Southwest Central Region, comprising ten states: Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Kansas, Louisiana, Missouri, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas, and Utah. Together, we foster collaboration and knowledge exchange to elevate HR practices across the region.

Louisiana boasts nine local SHRM chapters, each serving as a dynamic hub for Human Resources programming and networking opportunities within its local community. These chapters create spaces for professionals to connect, learn, and grow in their HR journeys.

Additionally, our state is home to ten student chapters that link college students with SHRM, facilitating a seamless transition from academia to the professional world of HR.
