Krystal Hardy Allen, a native of historic Selma, Alabama, is the Founder & CEO of K. Allen Consulting™, a globally recognized management consulting firm serving clients in over eight countries. A respected thought leader in organizational leadership and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), Krystal is also an award-winning former teacher and principal. Her journey in education began as an elementary school teacher, later advancing into instructional leadership as a principal, where her passion for equitable education took root. In 2017, Krystal transitioned into social entrepreneurship, establishing K. Allen Consulting™, which has become a highly sought-after partner for major corporate brands like Amazon, Apple, and Microsoft, as well as school systems, nonprofits, and government agencies. Her insights have been featured in Time Magazine for tackling racial bias in K-12 classrooms, and her accolades include being named one of Louisiana’s 2024 top five Education Change-makers, a 2019 Gambit 40 Under 40 honoree, and one of the 2022 Most Influential Women in Business in Louisiana by the BRM Regional Chamber of Commerce. She has also been recognized as a 2019 Aspen Institute Ideas Festival Scholar and the Urban League of Louisiana’s 2016 Activist Award recipient. A first-generation college graduate, Krystal holds a B.A. from the University of Notre Dame, an M.Ed. from National Louis University, and pursued doctoral studies at Teachers College, Columbia University. Beyond her professional endeavors, she serves on the boards of several national nonprofit organizations advancing educational as well as economic equity.
Rebecca Sha, is a partner in the Labor and Employment Group at Phelps Dunbar, in its New Orleans, Louisiana office. She is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and Tulane Law School. Rebecca’s practice includes the defense of companies, governmental entities, and nonprofits for employment law matters including workplace discrimination, retaliation, disability accommodations, and wage and hour disputes. She also litigates and represents schools and universities in educational law areas including Title IX, tenure and faculty disputes, governmental investigations, and breach of faculty and student handbook.
In addition to being an avid litigator and counsellor, Rebecca is in the leadership of several national organizations including as the President of the Louisiana Asian Pacific American Bar Association (LAPABA), a Committee Chair of the ABA Section of Litigation, and a Committee Chair of the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association. Civically, Rebecca serves as the Vice President of the Penn Club of Louisiana and on the Chairman’s Counsel for the New Orleans Chambers of Commerce.
Outside of work, Rebecca is the proud mother of a toddler, Quint, and wife to an aspiring Comic Book Professor turned family medicine physician, Joe.
