ABOUT US

The Louisiana SHRM State Council represents human resource professionals in the State of Louisiana and is supported through the national Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). Founded in 1948, the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) is the world’s largest HR membership organization devoted to human resource management. Representing more than 285,000 members in over 165 countries, the Society is the leading provider of resources to serve the needs of HR professionals and advance the professional practice of human resource management. SHRM has more than 575 affiliated chapters within the United States and subsidiary offices in China, India and United Arab Emirates.

The Louisiana SHRM State Council is part of SHRM's Southwest Central Region. The Southwest Central Region consists of the following states: Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Kansas, Louisiana, Missouri, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas and Utah.

Louisiana has 9 local SHRM chapters across the state, each that provide Human Resources programming and networking opportunities in their local area. In addition, there are ten student chapters which connect college students in the state to SHRM.

Vision Statement

The vision of the Louisiana SHRM Council is to be the voice of the Human Resource profession throughout Louisiana in matters relating to business, legislative issues, and professional development.

LASHRM’s mission is to provide Human Resource strategic direction and guidance to local state chapters, businesses, organizations and the human resource professionals in our state by:
